There is a reason that Pasadena Lock Shop has been around for over ninety years. It's because they're experts at what they do!
This mid-century modern secretary had been locked, with no key. Steve Curren, the owner and 3rd generation of his family running the shop, looked at the photos I sent and noted that the lower part of the secretary was open. He then instructed me on how to remove the lock mechanism without damaging the wood, thinking that a key to the bottom, which I did not have, might open the top lock, something I hadn't even considered. I then brought the lock to his shop, where he looked at it and told me that if he had come to the house, he would not have been able to open the lock, but now having the lock in his shop, if I gave him a day or two, he could make key, that hopefully would open the upper lock as well.
And it did!

Wow, Steve and Pasadena Lock Shop is THE place to go for you lock/key/security needs. I'm completely impressed and happy to see that businesses like this with passion for their work and integrity still exist. I guess that's how you withstand nearly 100 years of service!

We are a local business and needed emergency lock out services for a hostile termination. Steve not only returned my call after hours but stood by at ready to help come in and change the locks on two units after an employee termination that we knew needed immediate security. I cannot thank Steve enough for his excellent services, adaptability, and compassion in such a challenging situation.

Both Steve and Alan came by to service our 100 year old door with an original lock. If you are looking for someone who knows how to fix and maintain original hardware -- look no further. They also did a number of other services and installed a keypad lock for us as well. Prices were good, service was honest and most importantly they were very friendly!
